Former Bath Natural History Society secretary Dr Kate Souter has a chapter on Tree Sparrows included in a newly published book, In Rare Company – Uplifting encounters with Britain’s struggling wildlife from a collective of nature enthusiasts from all corners of the British Isles called Naturewrights.
The publishers say: ‘In Rare Company is a collection of 15 illustrated essays by members of the Naturewrights writing collective in which uplifting encounters with rarely seen species of British wildlife are recounted in prose or poetry. The essays and poems encompass natural history, emotional connection and conservation, and highlight how the reader may themselves help in the protection of each of the species.’
The cost is £8.99 plus postage from www.thegreatbritishbookshop.co.uk/products/in-rare-company
