Dr Dan Field is a University Lecturer in the Department of Earth Sciences at the University of Cambridge. Birds are the most diverse group of terrestrial vertebrate animals, boasting nearly 11,000 living species. But how did this awe inspiring diversity arise? Dan will discuss recent advances in our understanding of how, where, and when birds arose, and will show how high resolution 3D imaging is changing our understanding of when key avian features, like the toothless beak, came to be.…

Focus: Bird Song Description: We will walk around cemetery and listen to bird songs and calls, possibly walking along Church Lane and The Dell up to Prior Park Gardens bottom gate.
