Fungal Foray in Greyfield Wood, High Littleton, Somerset

September 25 @ 10:30 am - 2:30 pm

Leaders: Alan Rayner and Helena Crouch
Bookings: Helena Crouch
Start: 10:30
Finish: approx. 14:30
Meeting place: park and meet along Greyfield Road, High Littleton. Explorer 142 (ST 640 586)
Focus: Fungi and other Autumn wildlife
Description: A slow walk looking at fungi in particular, but also the other wildlife of this varied woodland. Greyfield Wood lies on the Coal Measures, so has more acidic soils than many other woods around Bath. There are areas of ancient woodland and also conifer plantation, so we should see a good range of fungi. Paths are good, but often muddy. Stout boots or wellingtons are recommended and please bring a packed lunch and hand sanitiser.

Please book with the Leader in advance. Members can find contact details in their Spring/Summer 2024 newsletter. This has several benefits for all meetings: the Leader is aware who is coming and can deal with any queries before the meeting (such as car-sharing, if required); in the unlikely event that arrangements need to change or the meeting has to be cancelled, attendees can all be contacted promptly and easily.
If you have booked but then are unable to attend, please contact the leader as soon as possible. The leader can then contact other members if there is a waiting list.
