Focus: Moths, Tree Walk, Biodiversity and Flora
Description: The Friends of Moorland Park, Bath Urban Treescape and Bath Natural History Society have planned a range of activities for this Festival of Nature Community Day exploring the Nature of Moorlands Park. Weather permitting, events will begin at 9:00 with the opening of a moth trap. Hugh Williamson of Bath Urban Treescape will lead a Tree Walk (Rob’s Route, Bath Urban Treescape Tree Trail E) at 14:30, starting and finishing in Moorlands Park. In the afternoon, Alan will demonstrate how to carry out a Biodiversity Survey in the East Field and Helena will lead short wildflower walks in the park. Members are urged to come along and participate, share their own expertise, and help promote an interest in local wildlife.

This tree trail, dedicated to former Bath Nats President Rob Randall, connects Moorlands Park and Alexandra Park, and takes around two hours. A wide variety of trees will be seen and views across Bath are spectacular. The trail is on roads, footpaths and green spaces, undulating, but with no long climbs.
