Landranger 172/Explorer 142 (ST 788 591), what3words: ///cute.decisions.careful  Friary is reached via Friary Wood Lane, a narrow steep road leading down from the A36. At Friary, park in field to the right, after the cattle grid, where you will see a sign “Car Park”. Follow signs to welcome coffee and cake at the Friary School, Friary.
Focus: summer flora and wildlife
Description: A walk through woodlands, fields and beside the River Frome, from Friary to Iford, with Laura who worked for many years for The Canal & River Trust. Stout footwear advised. Toilet facilities are available at Friary and Iford. Members of BNHS are invited to a 2-course seated vegetarian luncheon at River House in Friary. (Non members are welcome to join the walk/talk (£5) and also luncheon (£10). There is no charge for participants who join Bath Nats beforehand.)

This has several benefits for all meetings: the Leader is aware who is coming and can deal with any queries before the meeting (such as car-sharing, if required); in the unlikely event that arrangements need to change or the meeting has to be cancelled, attendees can all be contacted promptly and easily.
