Parking is on a first come basis. Visitors can use the pay & display machines available on campus; parking can also be paid for via the JustPark app. Please bear in mind that Newton Park operates under an ANPR system with a grace period of 45 mins. If any stay exceeds that without paying for parking, a ticket will be issued.
The U3 Bus service takes you from the centre of Bath to Newton Park.
Focus: Arachnids
Description: The day will involve exploring the grounds of the Bath Spa University Newton Park Campus at a slow pace. There will be demonstrations of various techniques used for sampling in different habitats, and tips on identification skills. Attendees will get a chance to practice these if they wish. Catherine will talk about the various species found and others which are of interest. We will likely go off some main footpaths at times, so good footwear and appropriate clothing should be worn. Parts of the site can be quite muddy when it rains. We will make regular stops when identifying and showing various findings, so attendees may wish to bring something to sit on. If attendees have their own sweep nets and trays, please bring these along on the day. Toilet facilities in public areas, such as the Commons building, will be accessible. Catering outlets will be open (although operating hours for the 2026/27 academic year have not been confirmed).
