Focus: Wildflowers, butterflies and other invertebrates
Description: Manor Farm is home to Emorsgate Seeds, the largest producer of wildflower seeds in Britain, established by Donald MacIntyre in 1980. Guided by the owners, we will be shown how the seed crops are grown and harvested, explore species-rich calcareous grassland and see meadows which have been restored using Emorsgate seed mixes. There is amazing diversity of wildlife on the farm. Walking will be around edges of fields, on tracks and across meadows: a bit hilly in places with some steeper or uneven ground. Stout boots are recommended and waterproofs or suncream and sunhats as appropriate. Please bring a packed lunch.
