Bats at Elm Farm

Start: 18:40 for walk and orientation, and 19:40 for bat detecting
Finish: 22:00 but depends on numbers of bats detected
Meet: Elm Farm, Burnett, near Keynsham, BS31 2TF. Car parking on site. From the south, from A39 take B3116 and Elm Farm is signposted on a track to the left. From Keynsham, at Burnett crossroads turn right and then there will be a turning to Elm Farm on the left.
Focus: Bats
Description: Starting with a walk on the farm, on farm tracks and field foot paths, to see bat roost sites and orientate. Watching for bats and using different bat detectors to detect, id and record calls. Nine species of bats have been detected over the years at this site and there is a maternity roost. Note : wrap up warm, it can get very cold, and suggest use of insect repellent.
