Focus: Moths
Description: Front of the American Museum for 9:00 opening of moth traps. These will have been run overnight in the gardens. Moths are identified, recorded, passed around for viewing and released. Event suitable for all levels of knowledge of moths, including none at all. Visitors are also encouraged to stop by. Good event for children. In previous years, children have been fascinated to see the moths close up, especially some of the larger hawk moths.
Parking in the car park, plus an overflow car park a little further up the hill.
Note: This event does not give access to gardens or entry to museum unless a member/ticket purchased. Toilets on site. Café open.

Please book with the Leader in advance. Members can find contact details in their Spring/Summer 2026 newsletter. This has several benefits for all meetings: the Leader is aware who is coming and can deal with any queries before the meeting (such as car-sharing, if required); in the unlikely event that arrangements need to change or the meeting has to be cancelled, attendees can all be contacted promptly and easily.
If you have booked but then are unable to attend, please contact the leader as soon as possible. The leader can then contact other members if there is a waiting list.
