Focus: Geology, plants, birds and other wildlife of a picturesque wooded valley
Description: Vallis Vale is a biological and geological SSSI, containing the famous De La Beche Unconformity. It is a typical wooded valley of East Mendip, with streams, a disused quarry area and rocky cliffs. Paths may be muddy, but they are generally flat. Boots recommended.
