Little Solsbury Hill above Batheaston

19th June 2022 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Leader: Helena Crouch
Start: 14:00
Meet: In lay-by on east side of A46. GR ST 762682 Landranger172 / Explorer155. Driving north from Bath on the A46, take left turn to Langridge/Tadwick/Woolley/Swainswick, then follow this round to the left, turning left under the A46 to reach the lay-by.
Finish: Approx 17:00
Focus: Summer flowers and insects
Description: Botanical exploration of Iron Age hill fort with far-reaching views at the edge of Bath. Steep slopes support many species typical of calcareous grassland and the rock outcrops add further interest. If sunny, there should be plenty of butterflies and other insects. Walk approx, 2.5km with rough ground in places.

Please book with the Leader in advance for all field trips so the Leader is aware who is coming and can deal with any queries before the meeting (such as car-sharing, if required); in the unlikely event that arrangements need to change or the meeting has to be cancelled, attendees can all be contacted promptly and easily. Members can find contact details in their Spring and Summer 2022 newsletter.
