Go-Slow at Bath City Farm

June 8 @ 10:30 am - 3:30 pm

Leader: Mike Williams
Bookings: Alvan White
Start: 10:30
Finish: 15:30 (optional finish time)
Meeting place: Bath City Farm offices, Kelston View, Whiteway, Bath, BA2 1NW, Explorer 155 (ST 726 640). Park in farm car park or on Kelston View.
Focus: Invertebrates, birds and wildflowers
Description: A slow walk, covering the 37ha site, including pasture, hay meadow, woodland, scrub and wetland habitats, some of which have been recently enhanced. There should be a wide range of invertebrates including beetles, flies, bees, butterflies and spiders. There will also be a range of birds and wildflowers. Over 1250 species have been recorded on the site. Please be advised that it is a working farm with livestock in fields and is frequently used by dog walkers.
Picnic in the meadows or alternative refreshment at the farm’s cafe.

Please book  in advance. Members can find contact details in their Spring/Summer 2024 newsletter. This has several benefits for all meetings: the Leader is aware who is coming and can deal with any queries before the meeting (such as car-sharing, if required); in the unlikely event that arrangements need to change or the meeting has to be cancelled, attendees can all be contacted promptly and easily.
If you have booked but then are unable to attend, please contact the leader as soon as possible. The leader can then contact other members if there is a waiting list.
