Meeting place: Park on Limpley Stoke Road, BA15 2NP (first road into Winsley on R, after coming up Winsley Hill), Explorer 155 (ST 796 609), what3words: region.flash.faces Bus D1 stops at Winsley.
Focus: Flora and fauna, but we hope to encounter Red-tailed Mason Bees (Osmia bicolor) the snail shell nesting bees.
Description: An exploration of the fields at Avon Park then to the reserve (approx. 3 miles there and back) The latter is particularly rich in wildlife and is a sloping, unploughed, calcareous meadow. Just wrap up and have good footwear for the paths and sloping ground. Bring a picnic lunch.
